Acording to HuangDi Nei Jing, Metal element is the manifestation of the Heaven in our body and skin is under the controll of the Lung/Metal ... in this case Heaven=Metal=Lung=skin, so, using IChing terminology Metal = Qian/Heaven

Earth = flesh and muscle which give the borders/boundaries of our body...so we could consider flesh a kind of "enveloppe"  which cover our organs but our real enveloppe is the skin

Lung/Metal, as a Chancellor of our body (Su Wen chapter 8) and also the manifestation of the Heaven, will spread the will of heaven (Qi) on the entire surface of our body with the help of the skin

Thanks for this precision.  :)
HuangDi Nei Jing is about medecine. That's not my field of experience.
When I was talking about with the image in i ching was related to gen  ;gen;. It's really like an enveloppe, that protects inside from outside, very much like the skin. And the mountain is also a place to get isolated. If one wants to find you there, he must go thru it to reach you. That a very different point of view that medecine one.

What is the Chancellor ?

"If I need more fire and wood, for wealth, health etc, what should I do apart from wearing the colours - like red and yellow? "

Wearing colors, amulets/talismans, etc. cannot cure you... they can only help you healing process as helpers of the main western or TCM treatment.
I agree with OCSI about all exterior aspects of elements. What I understand is that ba zi is about how we are built inside, how do we filter the reality of the events that occurs in our life and interpret them. It very much like the veils the buddhists talk about that darken our spirit. The ba zi explains it. Coming from heaven into a body on earth, that's talking about karma.
Feng Shui is more about what is outside. Inside and outside are two diffrent levels that can't interact. You cannot take any outside object, be it a color, a talisman, ... to balance your ba zi. You have to become, bring to life by your acts, your behaviour, the element that is required. When you know what you have to do, you can use the feng shui to help you, based on feng shui analysis.
Look. You have a day master in bazi, a gua number in feng shui. Most of the time, they are not the same element. We have these different keys because we cannot use one in place of the other.
Hope this helps.

1. "chancellor" is the second important " function" in the empire (of body) after the emperor (Heart -in the case of body)
2. TCM and BaZi are working with the same energies...so same energies must have, I guess, same functions and same results.

I wasn't able to find out what the Tsui Po (Day Breaker) is in this article.  Could someone point me in the right direction, please?  Thanks,
Robin

Hi LGG,

That is a very nice way to explain the difference between Bazi Suanming and Kanyu Feng Shui, people get confused and keep wanting to use one key to open the other lock! Thanks.

Hi fsa

Are you saying that fengshui and bazi are totally independent, so we cannot use fengshui (e.g. sectors, directions) to compensate weakness in bazi?

What then is the effective way to compensate for the weakness in bazi then?

Step 3 : Identify the Year Pillar

Let take the example of a person born on (Lunar) date 14 February 1999 at 11.35am.

1999 is the Year of the Earth Rabbit (己 卯)
Thus his Year Pillow would be Earth Rabbit. Filled this data in your Year Pillar, as follow:

Step 4: Identify the Month Pillar

From the above Month Chart, February is the Tiger Month, 寅.
Thus the Earthly Branch of the Month Pillar is 寅.

Referring to any Ten Thousand Year Calendar, in the Year 1999, Lunar Month
February, lunar day 14, it will show as 丙. Thus the Heaven stem of the Month Pillar is 丙. Now your BaZi chart will look like this:

Step 5: Identify the Day Pillar

Again, referring to any Ten Thousand Year Calendar, it is easy to find the Day Pillar. You will find that the Day Pillar for 1999 lunar 2nd Month, 29th day is Ding You (丁酉).

Step 6: Identify the Hour Pillar

Now, in our example, this person is born at 11.35am, the Hour Pillar branch is therefore Rat Hour (子 时), so write it in the Earth branch of the Hour Pillar:

To find the Heaven Stem of the Hour Pillar, just cross-refer to the below chart. As the Day is Ding and the Hour is Zi, cross-referring you will find Ren Zi (壬 子).
Where's the chart?
Why use lunar date? As far I know, Ba Zi use solar date.
Someone can clarify this?

Thanks.

Hi emwave, we can provide support and mitigate the weaknesses in bazi through Di (Earth) and Ren (Man) luck.

hi tretfcan,

   thank you for the post.

i have a question regarding your post :

'Thus, Mr Rabbit is a Yin Fire born in the month of the Tiger/Yin. Remember that month of Tiger/Yin is Spring? Spring is the month of the Yang Wood. From the preceeding posting on Season, Fire is considered strong (because Wood produces Fire. Thus, Mr Rabbit's Day Master is strong. Also remember that for male, the Day Master is also known as the Self Element and also represent his wife...He will have a good wife! Congrats!'

here you mention that the self element represents the wife? i have read in another post that wealth element represents the wife/gf?  i am confused. thx in advance for your reply

The Wealth Factor:

The Wealth Factor is the element that is controlled by the Day Master. From the above chart, Wood controls Earth, thus Earth is the Wealth element to people with Wood Day Master. Similarly, Metal control Wood, thus Wood is the Wealth element for people with Metal Day Master.

However, bear in mind the Yin Yang polarity. In decoding, one must also be aware of the season of the Month Earthly branch and other factors like Hidden stems and the Ten God. No, these 'Ten God' are not deity. It's only a name given to ten influencing factors (more on that later).

This is a Jia(Wood) guy. Thus his Wealth element is Earth. But there is no Earth element in his chart. Furthermore, he was born in Shen (a dry Autumn). Thus he will need Water.

Also note that his Wealth element is also his Wife element. Thus his wife will not have much influence in his life (but not a bad wife too as Earth weaken Fire-thus will assist indirectly).

From his Luck Pillar, it can be seen that his early life (from age 4 to 34), he had a very very hard life. His life begins to gets better or calmer from age 34 to 54.
His life will be good from 55 onwards.

In general, this is not a very bad life after all, as he can enjoin his Middle and Golden Age!

[Note:
i) The Year & Month Heavenly stem Bing & Xin combination (which will produce Water);
ii) The Hour & Day' Earthly branch, Wu + Wu together is known as 'Self punishment'.)

The OUTPUT Factor

Output Factor is the element that is "produced" by the Day Master (in the production cycle in the Five Element relationship).

The Output Factors represent the following:

i) a person's creativity;

ii) a person's intelligence;

iii) a person's expressive ability
iii.i against the norm
iii.ii Achieve the extraordinary
iii.iii Stand out (in the crowd)
iii.iv initiate a plan/strategy

iv) a person persuasive power

v) communication skills

In a chart where the Output Factor is a Favourable element, that person is surely to have a strong personal drive and determination to succeed. This person is likely to be creative, talented (in oral skills), teaching, marketing or acting and singing skills.

New to this. Please clarify for me. Is the Favorable element as referring to favorable to DM? For instance if the DM is Bing, therefore the output is Earth. Earth weakens DM, hence this person will have a small determination to succeed?? Oo?
