Hi Bazisuanming,

Concerning the host-guest relationship, it's sometimes confusing in perceiving how the energy is flowing.
eg.  If 9 is host and 5 is guest, then 5 is pulling the energy from 9, but does this empower 5 to be in effect?

Could you give a brief description of its usage?

Hi Redhawk,

the Lunar Mansions are used very frequently in the interpretation of the 81 combinations.

Example(Mountain-Water):
 7-8   great accumulation of wealth

according to Host-Guest this should not be very auspicious.
Here it is the Lunar Mansions which leads to the interpretation.
When Xiu 17 Wei (West)visits Xiu 8 Dou and Xiu 9 Nui (both in NE)
it results in great accumulation of wealth.
Note:This is not valid for 8-7

To use the 28 Lunar Mansions it is necessary to have a good understanding of the associations each Lunar Mansion has.

The 28 Xiu are also very useful in analysis of a birth chart and date selection.
