Hi Robert,
Quote
I imagine it is not merely a time difference but a deeper disagreement over where the water dragon is found.
Or where the Wang Qi is for the ruling period. The Wang Qi is important.( Mountain and Water Dragon for this period 8 )

Roberto, Akao,

XKDG:
Period 1.2.3.4:Mountain in 6789 and Water in 1234.
Period 6.7.8.9:Mountain in 1234 and Water in 6789.

Is the above correct ah?

I Thot it was more like this?? similar to XKFS??

Period 1.2.3.4:Mountain in 1234 and Water in 6789.
Period 6.7.8.9:Mountain in 6789 and Water in 1234.

Hi all,

Not sure whether it is relevent, if you look at Vincent's book, page 51, he talks about time dimension. He talks about Flying star which is 20 years per period, total of 9 periods with 1 cycle of 180 years.

on page 55, he talks about another school of thought where the year calculation is based on Eight Triagrams as they appear in the Early Heaven sequence. Basically, a Yin line = 6 years. a Yang line = 9 years. as such, the age calculation as follow:

Age 1: Kun 18 years
Age 2: Sun 24 years
Age 3: Li    24 years
Age 4: Tui  24 years
Age 5:  -   20 years
Age 6: Ken 21 years
Age 7: Kan 21 years
Age 8: Chen 21 years
Age 9: Chien 27 years

Total: 180 years also.

According to this system, Age 8 only starts in 1996 as compare to Flying Star, starts from 2004.

Does this help ?

Learnbazi,

I think there is mistake in putting period 5 in the list.
there is no preiod 5 in this system.  the others are in correct sequence.

And yet, you'd think that on this subject of Direct Spirit and Indirect Spirit, it would have been proven in practice that one was true and the other false, or that their claims of exclusivity ("it must be as I say and not the opposite") are false.
Either water works in NE and NOT SW or the other way around, or both are right and the whole argument is suspect k~0

Moonchin,

I lift it up from the book. There is also a few pages with all the yin and yang line outlined. I think there is no Kua for period 5.

Thanks

I am curious if anyone thinks LF and DG have anything in common with Ba Zhai.

I know this will sound like a really stupid question but if there is an answer some, akao and maybe others, will know.

Of course I never heard of indirect and direct spirits in Ba Zhai but I am stupid about Ba Zhai.  :-[

All these practices of Zheng and Ling Shen water are nothing but theory extensions from the HeTu.  Its rather impossible to prove claims of exclusivity if the theories are based on the Yiching and the HeTu.  The only claims to exclusivity are the practical methods to derive a conclusion.  And these practical methods may not be as simple as placing a water so-called "feature" in a designated place.

And as for a theory and method to work, there are too many vairables in play. And if the practitioner does not have enough knowledge of differernt FS theories to help him have a wide scope perspective of every FS situation, he may lay blame on the ineffectiveness of a particular theory or even to the extent of accusing falsity.

Its always: Caveat Emptor.

Bazhai is essentially a San Yuan method, therefore, it has a common ground of origin with  XKDG and XKLF.  Bazhai Ming Jing was written in the Qing Dynasty, during emperor Qian Loong 's reign 55th year.  However its earlier origin could be in the Huang Di Jai Jing.

Bazhai Ming Jing does not mention Zheng or Ling Shen water, but it does mention BaSha Huang Quan Lu (a San He theory on water sha), and 9 Star water method (also used in San He).
