Hi Quahbkc

It's really a very rare occasion that we can discuss QZSY here. Many people think that this teaching had disappeared since long time ago. But it seems there are still frangments of the teaching. I hope you would start a new topic on QZSY in order to unite the separate fragments and to invite others who have some understanding about it to participate in the discussion.

In the past it was usually the duty of the imperial practitionners to determine the excact positions of the celestial bodies with the 28 Xius as the background. But now,it seems that most people use the indirect method by using the western zodiacal ephemeris and then determine the positions of the 28 xius through the interpolation method. So far I do not know if there is a formal board which performs the direct measurement to the 28 xius positions.

BTW,what about the locations of Ming gong and others palaces, are they follow a fixed locations as indicated in your reference ?

      Regards

        Jerry

Dominique

Without knowing what may have been already written here, I would like to say that in my opinion people have lost the sight of what the 28 xiu were used for and why measuring their exact position in the sky these days is a waste of time and energy at least when they are supposedly used to map the location of the planets.

Ho Peng Yoke's "Chinese Mathematical Astrology" gives some information about the use of 28 xiu in ancient times.
