Hi quahbkc,

Are you able to provide the Chinese characters for "Xuan Ji Tan Yuan" and "Yuan Shu Shan"? Thanks in advance.

I just shifted house, so most of my books are still unpacked. Will see if I can find it.

OK Thanks very much. First canceling the neg. effects and if there is support or much strengh -> the own effect will still stay active.

Also, there be no Clashes like the Same branch for the Year or the branch opposite the Tai Sui.

akaO

So this year (2007 to come) Tai Sui is Hai and branch opposite is Si, right?  So it a month or day is Si, it clashes with year Hai?

Quote
Besides the Sha there also the Shen.Have a good "Shen star" arrive at the location with the white/purple stars is auspcious.
Like,Lu.

Here we look at the Stems of the Year.
So it can be a day with Lu and or a location thats the Lu is visiting.

Here are the Stems:
stems.                      Lu.
Jia ----------------------Yin
Yi ----------------------Mao
Bing ---------------------Si
Ding --------------------Wu
Wu ----------------------Si
Ji ------------------------Wu
Geng --------------------Shen
Xin ----------------------You
Ren ---------------------Hai
Gui ----------------------Zi

This year the Lu is Si.
So the Lu arrives at the Si mountain for this year.

Okay, here I get confused.  What is this Lu?  I don't know meaning of Lu.

Quote
Days with Bing stem,Lu is in the Si mountain.
Days with the Si Branch is also the Lu for this year.

I think I get that these are in 24 mountains.   In English convention Si is SE 3 and Bing is South 1.  I hope I have that right and Si is animal branch snake?  and Bing is Yang fire.  Does this all somehow relate to productive and destructive element cycle?

Quote
I think this is enough for now.
Maybe later.

I hope more because I am a confused newbie.  :D

There is a lot more to it in selecting a date.
This is just some basic info...am not that advanced.... ;D ;D
please correct anything.Hope to see more knowleg-people.

Glad not advanced.  Hope it is okay to post here because I am not knowleg-people but want to learn.

Incidentally, why are 1, 6, 8, and 9 good stars and not the others?

Hope I have not asked too many questions.

Regards,
fuguewisp

Yes and No.With Bing stem it means the stem of the day or year. And yes, when it says Mountain it means the direction SE3(Si).
If the year has a Bing stem then the Lu is located in the Si mountain thats in the SE3.
And a day with Si branch is also Lu for a 'Bing year'.

I think that the 168 and 9 are generally good because of their nature.

Hi acemundo,

23 wu zi     -  open
24 ji chou   - close
25 geng yin - estab
26 xin mao  - removal

Solely based on the 4 dates you gave and on the almanac activities, my order of preference would be:-

1. Fri 23 - Open
2. Mon 26 - Removal
3. Sat 24 - Close
4. Sun 25 ? Establish

But date selection using the almanac is more than just based on the 12 Jian Chu alone. The shen sha and timing needs to be taken into consideration. But consulting the almanac is better than doing nothing and just picking any day you like. In fact, I find date selection a difficult task to do because there are many factors to consider and it is time consuming. One of the common obstacle faced in doing date selection is not the methodologies used like almanac, bazi, XKDA or QMDJ but the constraints imposed by people - for example, must be weekend only, my mover is only available from next week, must be within this month, etc. Most of the time we need to just settle for the 'best' date within the boundary set by people. Very difficult to fulfill all conditions.

HI quah,

That's right.  there's a lot of parameters that makes date selection tough.

i think i will need to match the shen sha as well.

but just curious how you arrived at your choices especially the order of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices.

in the almanac it actually list

26th as suitable for moving,

24th as not suitable for anything

for 25th and 23rd, it did not record any positive or adverse comments although another book of mine says moving house should not be done on a removal day ie 26th.

by the way, does your choices change if the place i am moving to is my mother in law's apartment which they have been staying all these while?  just wondering if our choices are affected by situations whereby the house we moving to is recently inhabited or empty?

So this method helps for "construction" on part of a property where the tai ji is known?
Yes.
Quote
Do you use it also to select dates for, say, business moves, using the stars flying into the office space?
No.I don't do that. But there are things you can do with the Stars.
