Hi all,
I just checking some chinese online
ZWDS charter, and found out their Tian Ma (天马) position is wrong. One of them is:
h t t p://www.18zw.com/paipan.html
First, I thought it's a bug, since they are some site that has correct Tian Ma position, such as:
h t t p://www.zhycw.com/pp/ziwei.aspx
Then, after I read a post from a forum, I found out that the wrong Tian Ma is actually referring to Yue Ma (月马). The calculation is same with Tian Ma, but the input is not birth year branch, but birth month branch (in lunar of course). So Yue Ma is actually monthly Tian Ma.
Below is the Tian Ma/Yue Ma position table:
Year/Month EB Tian Ma/Yue Ma EB Position
===============================================
Zi (子) Yin (寅)
Chou (丑) Hai (亥)
Yin (寅) Shen (申)
Mao (卯) Si (巳)
Chen (辰) Yin (寅)
Si (巳) Hai (亥)
Wu (午) Shen (申)
Wei (未) Si (巳)
Shen (申) Yin (寅)
You (酉) Hai (亥)
Xu (戌) Shen (申)
Hai (亥) Si (巳)Note:
For lunar month, you might usually use number (1,2,3,...) instead of EB, so to find out the EB from lunar month number, just remember that the first lunar month is always Yin (寅) month, second lunar month is Mao (卯) month, and so on. For example, if someone born on lunar date: 25 november 1995, the november is Zi month so the Tian Ma/Yue Ma is at Yin palace.
For intercalary month issue, you can read
ZWDS notes by Annutara.
FYI, for the 18zw.com site above if your birth month falls on intercalary month, it would be calculated as next lunar month.
If you are interested on how is the Tian Ma/Yue Ma formula looks like, this is an excerpt from
Note: is there anyone can translate the bold word above? That's the only part that I'm not clear.
First you must understand about
San He combination groups and
their qi phases.
Just a quick summary, there are 4 San He combination groups:
Chang Sheng Di Wang Mu Ku Element
=============================================
Shen Zi Chen Water
Yin Wu Xu Fire
Hai Mao Wei Wood
Si You Chou MetalThe important part is the Chang Sheng. The Tian Ma position is at the opposite of the Chang Sheng.
First, you must find out what's group of your EB belong to, and then find out the Chang Sheng and get the opposite EB.
For example:
If your birth year/month's EB is Mao, it's belong to Wood element group (as you can see from the table above), then you find out the Chang Sheng of the group, which is Hai, and the Tian Ma/Yue Ma should be at the opposite of Hai, which is Si (snake).
But I found it can be made more simple like this:
Birth Year/Month EB Tian Ma/Yue Ma EB Position
==============================================================
Shen (申), Zi (子), Chen (辰) Yin (寅)
Yin (寅), Wu (午), Xu (戌) Shen (申)
Hai (亥), Mao (卯), Wei (未) Si (巳)
Si (巳), You (酉), Chou (丑) Hai (亥)Regards,
