Sorry for my bad explanation. Yes, the posts are numbered but the numbers don't appear when I'm replying to the poster. The posts were not numbered below the reply box - see the messages I copied below the reply box (try it by yourself to see what I mean):

You mean the aphabets before 'S' & 'Y'? It's a chinese character.

I know that they are Chinese fonts. I was referring to the question marks ->> m? y? ; gu?n d?i << - it's difficult to refer to the messages in question because the posts are not numbered.

Thank you. I know that they are PinYin but somehow it's difficult to guess which alphabet the ? should represent. I like your translations. :) May I copy it?

Thanks, again. :)

Hi All,
Just want to ask 2 questions
1. From what I understand about Qi Phases only growth, entry, peak and burial are supportive EB. Won't that means that you're more likely  not to get a good bazi chart?
2. If peak phase is Yang Ren and can hurt you, doesn't that further decrease your chances of getting a good chart?

Another thing... won't the use of progressive/reverse calculation of qi phases for Yin HS make a great difference to the qi phases obtained and hence the interpretation of a bazi chart?

Oo? Oo? Oo? Am I making sense?

On Saturday evening, after chatting about many interesting stuff with ace (including 12QP), I had some thoughts on this topic while traveling on the mrt (underground/metro).

Look at the 60 Jia Zi table, we find that HS1 Jia only pair up with EB1, EB11, EB9, EB7, EB5 AND EB3. Thus we have Jia Zi, Jia Xu, Jia Shen, Jia Wu, Jia Chen and Jia Yin. There will never be Jia Chou, Jia Hai,etc. This means Yang stems will only meet Yang branches, and Yin stems will only meet Yin branches.

From the above view, there seems to be a missing link in putting the 60 Jia Zi table together with either Yin Yang 12QP or 5 Elements 12QP tables. Does any one has any way to explain how and why?

Also, there are many questions like... how did 12QP come about? Is it meant to be used with 60 Jia Zi? Is it usable in other areas of five arts? Which are the areas? How about Na Yin 5 Elements?

[meek goes thinking again #??]

Yes. Have been testing moon cakes at Taka, Raffles Place and Bugis. ~18~ Finally bought Sheraton's Li Bai moon cakes for my neighbour. I might get the Conrad Hotel wolfberry moon cakes for my mother this week.  :-[ I'm going off-topic so back to 12 qi phases...

Have you found any more info on 12 qi phases so far?

All the goodies sounds yummy but my favourite is still the traditional nutty type with ham.
Haven't make any progress in my bazi :-[. Just rereading Joey Yap's 2 books on bazi.
Guess what, my mum went into labour on a mid autumn night and I was born in the chou hour when the sky must have been bright from the reflected light of a full moon.

I just sumbled across this 12 Growth and Phases Attributes, would someone care to explain how it relates to the 12 Phases in someone's chart?:

Chang Sheng 長 生 Growth : This indicates an exceptional level of competence and excellence in one's youth, who will also be privileged to be born into an affluent family, with wealthy parents.

Mu Yu 沐 浴 Bath : This is a 'Killing Star', whose effects are akin to that of a baby being bathed in a bath tub. It speaks of someone who is helplessly controlled by others. A man under the effects under the effects of this Star is susceptible to facing failure and loneliness in life, as well as the possibility of death in the fasmily. A woman, meanwhile, may suffer from ill fortune affecting her own family, as well as her husband's family. Worse still, her firstborn may not survive its childhood.

Guan Dai 冠 帶 Youth/Attire : This indicates that when a person reaches his/her twenties, the time has come to tie the knot, start a business, or attain stability in his/her career. He/she may have to work hard initially, but will eventually succeed and become wealthy by middle age. Networking with helpful persons will play a pivotal role in ensuring this person's success at an older age. Nevertheless, those born into affluent families will be able to inherit when the time comes.

Lin Guan 臨 官 Officer/Coming to Age / Di Wang 蒂 旺 Prosperity Peak : These are positive indicators that when a person reaches his/her forties or fifties, he/she will enjoy a good reputation, which is accompanied by status, authority and wealth.

ShuaiWeakening/Aging / BingSick/Sickness / SiDeath : These are the harbingers of ailments, poverty, loneliness and even death, when a person reaches his/her seventies or eighties. However, such negative effects can be negated and neutralized with the presence of the 'Wealth Star'.

MuGrave/Tomb : This is akin to a burial chamber or crypt where the dead are buried with their precious, earthly possessions. It usually indicates miserly or stingy individuals.

JueExtinction/Repose : Unfortunately, all hope is lost, with no help in sight.

TaiConceived/Womb : Despite the fact that it is still in its infancy or flailing stages, a new development or life brings about renewed hope.

YangNourishing/Gestation : Once a new development or growth has stabilized, nurturing and attending to it carefully will bring about positive changes in one's life.

is it true that if the DM is strong that you want the Qi Phases to be in the declining phases to help balance out the chart? and the opposite is true for a weak daymaster...

for a strong DM the Prosperity peak Qi Phase is considered negative, whilst ageing is positive

while for a weak DM ageing is absolutely detrimental and prosperity is favorable.

There is one  important question missing from the poll:
- using both methods.

After all, both are used in Bazi.

hi coco :D

i forget where i read this... for example...

strong wood... person is good to have dragon branch in chart as dragon represents 'ageing' for wood as wood is weakened by this energy. even if it is still spring and wood and water is still present... or even goat/sheep even if it is "tomb/burial" is good for wood as the energy can weaken a strong DM

but nevermind. i just realized that all the branches that are in the "waning phase" (ageing, sickness, death...) for wood... also contains the beneficial elements for a really strong DM! well mostly... so it could really either be the two. :D

Then, what is the actual case?  Your explanation seems to thicken the plot rather than unravel it... :(
